Star Wars Lego review Set 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Cruiser

The Star Wars Lego Home One Mon Calamari Cruiser is a 10th Anniversary set released in 2009. This singular set was a fan's option set as voted on by visitors to a website online and the set can only be purchased at Lego Shop At Home or at specialty stores. The set replicates a scene from Star Wars part Six, Return Of the Jedi, when the rebel alliance gathers to plan what will be their final battle against the Empire.

The model is primarily a playset and consists of two unavoidable areas which don't necessarily appear together in the film. With 789 pieces, set number 7754 comes with six minifigures, most of which are exclusive to this set. The figures are Mon Mothma, Admiral Ackbar, normal Crix Madine, normal Lando Calrissian, an A wing pilot and a Mon Calamari officer. Based on the figures alone this set is very appealing.

Lego Life

Lego have done a astounding job representing each of these characters in minifigure format. The Mon Calamari head is made of hard plastic and is a astounding likeness. It approximately makes you want to say "We have no choice, normal Calrissian! Our cruisers can't repel firepower of that magnitude!" or "It's A Trap!" which I'm sure most fans will do more than once as they play with this set.

The main playset area consists of a command town and briefing room constructed all in white which then adjoins a hangar area to house an A-wing vehicle. There are astounding details in both areas and a number of play features along with the quality to replicate the notable "It's a Trap" moment with Admiral Ackbar's revolving chair. The divergence of the all white clean command town with the grey of the hangar is striking.

The command town houses Admiral Ackbar's command chair while the briefing room, made notable as the meeting point for all the heroes before they parted for their final confrontation with the Empire, features an orange hologram of the second Death Star and places for characters to sit while being briefed by Madine and Mothma.

The hangar is large and houses a newly designed A-Wing which can be manipulated colse to the hanger using a rod piece at the front. Lego has added extra playability by allowing the A-Wing motor to be removed, fuel to be added and maintenance to be performed by technicians. It adds motion to an already thoughprovoking set.

Priced at 9 it is a high price point for only 789 pieces but the exclusive figures, concentration to information and high playability make it hard to miss.

Star Wars Lego delineate Set - 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder

The Star Wars Lego Swamp Speeder is part of the first wave of releases for Lego in 2010. This is a diminutive edition set which means you can only get it at Lego Shop At Home or definite stores (Target).

The set is a diminutive small for the .99 price tag but that tends to happen with exclusive sets. There are 176 pieces and 5 minifigures so it is not a huge set. The Speeder itself is quite small and will be a preventative for casual buyers. Collectors any way will be attracted by the form of Jedi Commander Barriss Offee as it is the first time she has been featured in a set. This is a beautiful form with purplish embellishment on her face and a extremely detailed torso.

Lego Life

Other figures in the set contain a clone trooper, two battle droids and a super battle droid. The clone trooper is in what is regarded as phase two armor. That means it is not the primary clone armor as featured in episode 2 but the second version of the armor as featured in episode Three. This armor is meant to serve as halfway in the middle of the primary clone armor and that worn by the stormtroopers in episodes four five and six. For avid fans, this particular phase two clone Lego has a slightly newer fabricate on its helmet and torso.

The speeder has a whole of interesting features which may make up a diminutive for the higher price bracket. As it is a swamp speeder wheels on the bottom of the model give the impression that the speeder is hovering across the surface. There are four flick fire missiles and there is a steering mechanism at the rear which controls the front wheels and missiles. It's a great fabricate and has a beautiful exclusive form and if you can look past the high price point it is worth the buy if you are a fan.

History of Lego Sets: How the fabulous Brick Toy Became a fabulous Household Name

Did you know that the Lego sets you and your children love to play and build things with were the brainchild of one genius of a Danish man who originally made and sold ironing boards, stepladders, and wooden toys? Ole Kirk Christiansen established his humble woodworking enterprise in the exiguous community of Billund, where he and his son Godtfred, who was only 12 years old in 1932, started on constructing their dream into a reality.

Naming the Business

Lego Life

Two years after the enterprise was established, the Christiansens named their products Lego, a word coined from "leg godt," a Danish phrase that means "play well." enterprise was successful for the Christiansens, but tragedy struck in 1942 when a blazing fire burned the entire Lego factory down. This did not dampen the family's spirits, though, as soon after, they were producing wooden bricks they called self-operating Binding Bricks. Not exactly the most interesting name in the world, but these are the predecessors to the modern Lego sets.

Shift from Wooden Bricks to Plastic

The customary wooden self-operating Binding Bricks had pegs on top and hollow bottoms. By the early 1950s, the Christiansens were the biggest toy manufacturers in Denmark, having been the first to buy a plastic injection-molding engine for toy-making. Ole, the customary founder, was too old to man the business, so Godtfred took over and decided the shift from wooden bricks to plastic. However, the self-operating Binding Bricks still lacked one potential that makes it dissimilar from the present Lego brick we all know and love.

The Stud-and-Tube Design

1958 was a year to remember for everyone in the Lego family. Ole Christiansen died and the Lego brick we have come to know so well came into existence while that very same year. The enterprise had finally gotten it right, putting studs on the top of the brick and matching tubes at the bottom. They had this manufacture patented and are using it up to the present. A Lego brick made today could match a first-rate made in 1958. In 1960, someone else fire ravaged the Lego factory and they decided to stop producing wooden toys altogether.

Wheel Manufacturers, Too!

Did you know that Lego also produces the highest amount of wheels in the world? Lego wheels, that is. In 1961, they man-made their first wheel and are still manufacturing over 300 million Lego wheels today. These are added into 37,000 Lego sets every hour with thousands of other Lego pieces. Years later, in 1967, Lego released Lego Duplo, which is a larger collection more favorable for younger children.

Lego Sets Everywhere

Since then, Lego has made its mark in the lives of both children and adults as one of the best toys ever. The sets began to comprise mini-figures who had dissimilar skin colors, facial expressions, and hairstyles. The enterprise began releasing sets based on dissimilar themes, like cities, medieval ages, even dolls, and licensed sets like Harry Potter and Star Wars.

The Star Wars Lego set 8038 called The Battle Of Endor is a 10th Anniversary Set that comes with maybe the most amount of minifigures in a Star Wars publish outside of the Death Star. With 12 specially created and very detailed figures this set is lively right off the bat.

Toys for Kids Who Don't Watch Television

My children don't watch much television, at least compared to their friends and peers at school. So when we visit the local toy store and they see the most recent television advertised goods there is commonly a sense of curiosity but exiguous more.

Unlike children who watch television they have been largely unexposed to the advertisements and television shows designed to sell toys. Toys that come and as passing trends tend to require a large advertising funds to cement their request for retrial to children and once children have them, the interest is often sustained only through the ongoing television show or advertising campaign (often one in the same).

Lego Life

Toys that plainly request for retrial to children have often been around for decades already and were no doubt played with by their parents. Toys like Lego, Playmobil, Calico Critters (Sylvanian Families) and Schleich are often well known to a few generations of adults, even if they are unable to state the brand name, because they have all been active in the toy store for over 40 years.

The calculate these toys have survived through generations of convert and competition is that they have established a establish buildings that kids love, regardless of their generation, one that allows kids to imprint their own imagination onto the toy because they come unburdened by trend based stories that move in and out of fashion. If you look at most television advertisements directed at children today, the large majority of those toys will not be around in the next year or so.

Playmobil, Lego, Calico Critters and Schleich toys have all excelled at inspiring to children in their own unique way for many years. Lego appeals because it is a straightforward construction toy that children can use to make a range of pre established sets or whatever their imagination can envisage.

Playmobil offers children ways to interact with role playing using straightforward figures and a large range of play sets and vehicles from contemporary, historical and fantasy environments.

Schleich designs a life like range of animals, together with dinosaurs each year that kids love. These animals can be played with in a range of settings and can be mixed with other toys.

Calico Critters has designed a beautiful range of cute anthropomorphic animals that live in a natural, forest environment. Children can make up stories about these animals and use them to role play actions and feelings they may have experienced.

All the toys mentioned in this report are as physically durable as they are long chronic in the eyes of children, and only one, Lego, advertises on television. It is no wonder then, that they continue to request for retrial to children while other trend based toys come and go.
